The [BLACK] series designed by award-winning Raimonds Circulus combines new materials, aesthetics, and functionality to create beautiful pieces of furniture - from lava. Made of volcanic basalt and polyurethane, it is low maintenance and low weighing. The handmade Bios Mini is intended for 1 person. It is for both indoor and outdoor use. The furniture can be hung from an Unknown Nordic S stand, in a pergola, beam, tree, or similar which can carry 551.2 lbs (250kg). The Bios Mini is hung by a rope. Tie the knot so the furniture hangs a minimum of 11.8" above the base of the stand or ground. The furniture is resistant to UV radiation, salt, and chlorine and thus suitable for withstanding aggressive environments such as spa and pool areas. It absorbs sound and after being tested, it showed a reduction of 4.4 decibels. The Bios Mini encapsulates heat, which is why - despite its black color - it does not get too hot in the sun. Designer Information
All products from Unknown Nordic are made from a combination of basalt fibers and bio-resin. The basalt fibers are extruded from volcanic lava and made into very thin fibers, which are mixed with bio-resin and shaped by hand on molds. The result is that every piece has a unique pattern. The material has extraordinary properties like heat absorption, resistance to salt and chlorine, sound reduction, a strength 3 times that of steel, and no maintenance required. A truly luxurious material.
